I too revolve everything around FM ~ including simple websites. I've been a customer for over 5 years and have only received 2 Nigerian spam ... and I have never needed access during any brief down time. My brother also uses FM and we occasion wonder why on Earth would anyone use anything else. But what got me hooked immediately was the support. Once I found these 'supergeeks' I knew I'd never leave them because it's their philosophy and dedication that makes the ware and that's hard to find in any product, not just on the internet.

FastMail is the focal point for *everything* I do on the Web, whether email, workflow, files exchange, repositories for blog images, and so on. Although there are quirks with using Opera with the new interface -- Opera *always* seems to have quirks -- the IMAP facility there and supported by FastMail is unbeatable.

I of course have a Paid account, and simply will never leave.

Support? You gotta be kidding: I have *never* had such great support on *any* product whatsoever, hardware, services, or software. FastMail beats Disney's theme parks in the service they provide.

FastMail is wonderful.

I do about 98% of my email at my Fastmail address (as webmail), and I absolutely love it. It is more dependable than any other email address I've ever had, including YahooMail. When I started with Fastmail (well over five years ago), I was using an I-Opener (a now-defunct Internet appliance similar to WebTV; had Internet access, but no hard drive). It was difficult to find webmail that would work on such a limited device, but Fastmail did. When I made that grateful observation to Fastmail's customer support, they replied that their philosophy is that webmail should be available to *all* users of the Web, not just to those with advanced equipment and operating systems. Down time is rare and short in duration when it happens. I also find support to be very responsive. I have been at the paid level for a long time (my husband also has a Fastmail address) and plan to continue. Good interview on this site.

Congratulations to Fastmail, not only the for richness and the flexibility of their email system, and not only for their reliability, but also for the efficiency and friendliness of their customer support.

> "the quality of the server software is so uneven

True, that is why you should use Cyrus IMAPd! I don't honestly understand why people insist on struggling with inferior software that is still trying to bolt on features Cyrus has had for years. Use Cyrus.
