Thunderbird 3 is here!

Mozilla just announced the release of Thunderbird 3. It’s a major improvement from the, by now, outdated Thunderbird 2.

If you’re a faithful reader of our blog, you know we’re really excited about Thunderbird 3 and that we’ve followed the releases of the betas and release candidates closely. If you haven’t read our posts, here are the major new features in version 3:

Tabbed Email.
The new search experience is much faster, and new search tools will help you narrow down your search.
A new Message Archive folder system will help you organize your email.
Lots of user experience improvements: main toolbar has been simplified, new search widget, new Mail Account Wizard, Smart Folders, Activity Manager, one-click Address Book, Attachment Reminder.
