Just a few days after releasing Thunderbird 3 RC1 (that we covered here), the guys and gals over at Mozilla rolls out RC2. The full release notes are available here.
Among the new changes, we find an improved wizard for adding accounts (very similar to what we saw in the latest release of Postbox), a redesigned Mail Toolbar, Smart Folders enabled by default, a new birthday field in the address book and more.
If you just want to skip ahead and download it right away, here are the direct links:
More languages are available here.
Update: A blog post over at The Rumbling Edge, Mozilla’s development blog, utlines that these were the actual changes from RC1:
Fixed: 516950 – [autoconfiguration] “Download new messages automatically” should be checked/activated/enabled by default (at least for POP3 accounts!)
Fixed: 531278 – Theme is labeled as version 2.0
Fixed: 531502 – “Download More Dictionaries” fails to open webpage correctly
Sorry for the confusion.
