I know a lot of people are frustrated with Facebook’s lock-in when it comes to communication. Until today, all communication by email with Facebook was one-way. When someone post a message your wall or comment on a post, you receive an email notification (which can be configured).
That all changed today when Facebook announced you can reply to these notification messages and post a comment back.
This is great news indeed, but I’d love to see that they extend this further and add IMAP support to their messaging system. I’ve personally started to use this more and more to communicate with friends and hate the fact of not having a local backup of all those messages.
